Solitude

SOLITUDE

When was the last time you spent time with yourself? This is a burning question that most of us fail to answer. The moment you start looking for the answer is when you realize that you do not have one. In this activity, we remove all the distractions, giving a sense of time: their watches, cell phones, and all the other gadgets. We made the participants sit in isolation so that no one could see or hear each other. All they have is a pen and a paper with them. They can write a “note to self” or spend time in solitude. The hardest part is to sit without doing anything. Initially, there is a lot of restlessness, but slowly, the participants settle into their thought process and become truly one with themselves. We end the session with a 10-minute mindfulness session and ask the participants: “Do we need such a place to spend time with ourselves?”.
